Ashburton player scoops $28m in Lotto Powerball

A Lotto player from Ashburton is $28.2 million richer after winning Powerball first division in last night's draw.
The ticket was sold at Four Square Netherby, and is made up of $28m from Powerball first division and $200,000 from Lotto first division.
They are the 11th Powerball multi-millionaire in 2026.
Four other players won $200,000 in Lotto first division in last night's draw, while a Strike player from Timaru also took home $200,000 with Strike four.
Of the first division winners, two of the tickets were also sold at Four Square Netherby.
"It could be the same person who has won it all, or it could be three individual tickets," a Lotto spokesperson said.
"We won’t know or be able to confirm that until the winner or winners claim their prize."
The other tickets were sold at New World Browns Bay in Auckland and Glen Innes Dairy and Lotto Outlet in Auckland.
Meanwhile, 21 players won $17,369 with Lotto second division.
One player from Invercargill also won Powerball second division, taking their haul to $43,448.
