Person found dead after falling from rocks at Muriwai Beach

A person has died after reportedly falling from rocks into the sea at Auckland's Muriwai Beach today.

Emergency services were called to Ōtakamiro Point around 1pm today after reports of someone falling into the water.

"The Westpac Rescue helicopter located the person deceased in the water a short time ago and the body has been recovered," a police spokesperson said.

"Police are working to establish the circumstances of the incident."
