'Great result': Police find missing 81-year-old Canterbury woman

Police have located an 81-year-old Canterbury woman who was reported missing on Saturday from her home in Woolston.

She was found in Ferrymead this evening.

Detective Senior Sergeant Colin Baillie said: "She was extremely cold, but is talking to police and will be sent for a medical examination."

Baillie said the days-long search was extensive and involved police teams, along with assistance by members of the public.

"Her family have been notified of this great result."

Police thanked everybody who had assisted with the search efforts in recent days.
