A 45-year-old man was arrested and appeared in the Waitākere District Court today charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Four other men, aged between 19 and 22, were jointly charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Goldie said all the parties involved were known to one another.

"I can reassure the community that this is a family-related dispute and is not an incident where individuals have been targeted," she said.

“Police will allege that the incident has stemmed from an ongoing dispute between those involved.”
