Major internet outage in central Auckland – fix expected tomorrow

An internet outage is impacting parts of Westmere and Grey Lynn in central Auckland today.

According to Chorus, the outage was reported at 4.36am.

As of 10.30am, internet restoration in the affected area was expected tomorrow.

Just before 9am, Chorus said a technician was onsite and an investigation into the outage was underway.

An outage map on the Chorus website stretched from Westmere Park to Western Springs and included Auckland Zoo, schools, restaurants and supermarkets.

The outage area also included St Paul’s College and Martist Catholic School in Herne Bay.

Both Spark NZ and One NZ listed the outage on their website and said the cause was being investigated.
