Firefighters tackle large house fire in Stokes Valley

Firefighters are at the scene of a large house fire in Lower Hutt this evening.

Fire and Emergency NZ said crews were called to a property in Stokes Valley around 6.26pm following a report of smoke in the area. It was followed by multiple calls indicating there was a house fire.

Three fire trucks, an aerial appliance and a specialist command unit were in attendance.

Photographs of the property showed extensive damage to the exterior.

The crews arrived from Stokes Valley, Avalon, Silverstream, Remutaka and Wellington City.

There were no reports of injuries, and all people had been accounted for.
