Police investigate unexplained death after man found dead in Kawakawa carpark

Northland police are investigating after a man was found dead in a carpark in Kawakawa this morning.

Detective Inspector Rhys Johnston said police were called to Station Rd about 7.45am where they found the man’s body in a vehicle.

The vehicle was located in a carpark near the Caltex service station, he said.

“A scene examination of the area is ongoing, and police are speaking with a man in relation to the death, which is unexplained at this stage.”

A post-mortem was expected to be conducted tomorrow.
