Road reopened after 4 injured in crash near Tairua, Coromandel

A crash on a main Coromandel Peninsula road near Tairua has left one person seriously injured and others hurt.

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash on Tairua Whitianga Rd/State Highway 25 near Pumpkin Hill at 1.30pm.

A police spokesperson said one person received serious injuries, one had moderate injuries and two others received minor injuries.

The highway was earlier blocked while emergency services responded.

Hato Hone St John sent two ambulances and one first response unit just before 2pm.

All four patients were taken to Thames Hospital.
