Lotto: Three lucky winners split $1m as Powerball rolls over to $17m
Tonight’s $15m Lotto Powerball jackpot has rolled over to a staggering $17m for Wednesday’s draw after not being struck.
But three people have emptied the Lotto First Division cash cow, splitting $1m and winning $333,333 each.
The winning tickets were sold at Four Square St Heliers in Auckland, Roselands Lotto in Auckland and Fresh Choice Parkwood in Hamilton.
The Lotto Powerball numbers were 7, 29, 2, 21, 24 and 37. The Bonus Ball was 17 and the Powerball was 10.
Strike Four also rolled over tonight and will be $400,000 on Wednesday’s draw.
One lucky winner won $200,000 in Wednesday’s Strike, while there were no winners of the Division 1, $12m Lotto Powerball or standard Division 1 Lotto $1m jackpot.
One lucky player took home $28.6m after winning Powerball and three shares of Lotto first division on June 3.
The winning ticket was sold in the mid Canterbury town of Ashburton, putting it at the centre of one of the country’s biggest lottery wins this year.
Three days later a lucky Coromandel couple won $4.5m in what they’ve described as a “life-changing, mind-blowing” moment.
What to do if you win
Ticket holders can immediately see if they have won if they purchased a ticket through the MyLotto app. Prizes of $1000 or less are automatically credited to the account.
For prizes exceeding $1000, winners must complete an online prize claim form.
Winners with physical tickets must still visit a Lotto retailer to claim their prize.
For the Powerball jackpot to be claimed, a ticket holder must get all six Lotto numbers correct as well as the added Powerball number.
