Driver dies after single-vehicle crash near Tokoroa

One person has died following a crash near Tokoroa.

Police were called to the single vehicle crash on Kauri Rd at Kinleith at around 3.40pm on Wednesday.

The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found dead at the scene, police said today.

The road was closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducted a scene examination and was reopened at around 9.40pm.

Inquiries into the crash were ongoing.
