Kayaker dies at Onetangi Beach, Waiheke Island, Auckland

A woman in her 50s who died on Auckland's Waiheke Island may have suffered a medical event while kayaking off the island in the Hauraki Gulf.

The Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter attended the incident at Onetangi Beach at 5:20pm on Thursday. 

It is believed the woman had fallen out of her kayak.

She died at the scene.
