Monday, 8 April 2019
A person has been taken to hospital after a car and an electric scooter collided in Avondale, Auckland.
Emergency services were called to the incident, near the intersection of Whitney St and Tiverton Rd, just after 12:40pm on Monday.
Police said one person was left with a leg injury.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the patient was taken to Auckland City Hospital with moderate injuries.

It was unclear if the patient was the driver of the car or the e-scooter rider.
E-scooter safety has been hotly debated since Californian micro-mobility startup Lime introduced fleets of hundreds to Auckland and Christchurch streets in October.
The scooters can be unlocked by virtually anyone using a mobile phone app and are capable of travelling at speeds of about 30km per hour.
Lime's guidelines recommend its users ride on footpaths, roads or cycle ways and suggests wearing helmets, although no helmets are supplied.
ACC noted an initial spike in e-scooter-related injury claims as people got used to the new technology - then a much bigger spike caused by a glitch in Lime's software that caused random unexpected breaking events.
It was unknown if the scooter involved in Monday's incident was a Lime scooter.
