Critical injuries following serious Northland crash

Two people were taken to hospital after the crash on SH12 near Kaikohe.

One person has critical injuries following a serious single vehicle crash in Northland on Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to the scene on State Highway 12, east of Kaikohe about 3.25pm.

The road is closed, with diversions in place.

A helicopter was dispatched and the Serious Crash Unit will examine the scene.
