The New Zealand Transport Agency has reinstated a vehicle inspector and his organisation's ability to give warrants of fitness.

The suspension for Chris Luo and his Mount Roskill-based business Auto Link, which trades under Kiwi Motor Services, was lifted on June 12.

Luo was initially suspended because the transport agency was concerned that non-compliant vehicles may have been given a WOF.

There were also concerns there was an unusually high number of inspections with just one authorised vehicle inspector.

At the time, NZTA said it 'strongly' encouraged people who had their WOF issues from Auto Link to get their vehicles rechecked.

The company is now permitted to carry out checks again.
