Auckland city webcams show how fast smoke spread across the skyline, after a massive fire in the CBD.

The first image was taken at 1.10pm and the second at 1.20pm.

The major fire broke out at Auckland's SkyCity convention centre on Tuesday afternoon.

A worker believed a torch used to heat and seal waterproofing material started the fire on the roof.
