Building supplies company Bunnings Warehouse has joined the list of companies offering essential supplies during lockdown.

The company is offering home delivery for winter goods such as heaters, insulation, door and window seals, pest control and kitchen appliances. 

But home renovators and DIY fans must be content to wait until after lockdown for other building supplies.

Bunnings New Zealand director Jacqui Coombes said the priority was to support customers, 'in a safe and practical manner'.

All staff were packing orders in line with social distancing protocols, she said.

Bunnings and Mitre 10 Mega stores were jam-packed with customers in the lead-up to the Level 4 lockdown as people raced to stock up with the necessities they needed for jobs at home.

Paint retailer Resene had to close some stores because they simply ran out.
