Coronavirus: Drive-though option for click-and-collect Warehouse shopping in Covid-19 level three

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced consumers to think about what they need, what they can get, and due to the lockdown, what they really can live without.

The Warehouse Group will offer contactless click-and-collect from The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming and Torpedo7 outlets through alert level three, and drive-through shopping at four outlets in Auckland.

Shoppers who place a click-and-collect order online can select the store they would like to pick up from.

The customer would then be notified via email and text when their order was ready to be collected from a contactless pick-up point outside the store.

The service is launching at over 230 stores nationwide from April 28.

'We wanted to offer Kiwis another way to shop safely as we transition into alert level three. While we can't open our stores during this time, we can offer another safe and secure way for Kiwis to shop our complete online range that's free, except for oversize items, and easy to use,' said The Warehouse Group chief executive Pejman Okhovat.

'This is just another example of how we are adapting our business to this changing environment and our team members are doing their best to provide customers with a convenient service, while keeping everyone safe.

'Noel Leeming customers can make appointments for repairs, Torpedo7 customers can book in for a contactless bike service, and The Warehouse and Warehouse Stationery customers can get access to our full online product range through contactless click and collect, or online delivery,' he said.

At The Warehouse Albany, Westgate, Royal Oak and Manukau, a drive-through service will also allow access to orders from TheMarket.

Justus Wilde, chief executive of TheMarket.com, said that would include groceries.

'We have partnered with a number of great food businesses including Foodbox, HyperMeat and Jess's Underground Kitchen.

'Our partners like Foodbox source all their fresh high-quality products direct from reputable primary New Zealand producers, farmers and growers who usually supply to hospitality businesses that are now closed or operating in limited capacity due to Covid-19.'
