Seek says the number of job advertisements listed on its site increased 9 per cent across the country between December and January, and more than 40 per cent year-on-year.
Seek New Zealand country manager Rob Clark said it was a record-breaking month on the website.
“There was also a 0.4 per cent increase in applications per job ad,” he said.
National job ads were up 42 per cent in January compared to the same month last year.
In the first 10 days of 2022 there were 60 per cent more jobs posted to the site than during the same period in 2021.

Retail and consumer services and tourism were both down by 4 per cent month-on-month.
Canterbury had the biggest increase in job ads, up 13 per cent month-on-month, Clark said.
Advertised roles in Auckland increased by 10 per cent month-on-month, 11 per cent in Northland, and 8 per cent in Waikato.
Roles advertised in Gisborne were down 20 per cent month-on-month, but up 22 per cent compared to 2019.
