Newshub staff have been told news production operations will be closed at the end of June, should a company proposal be accepted.

Parent company owner Warner Bros Discovery told staff at a 11am meeting Wednesday.

Newshub journalists and other staff spoke of their shock following the announcement.

About 200 jobs may be lost, Newshub reported.
