Man seriously injured in Wellington ladder fall, WorkSafe investigating
Wednesday, 20 April 2016
A man has been seriously injured in a fall from a ladder hit by a forklift in Wellington.
The 30-year-old man was taken to Wellington Hospital by helicopter after falling in Cashew St, in the northern suburb of Grenada North, about 10.30am on Wednesday.
Acting inspector Brett Simon said the fall was a workplace accident, and WorkSafe New Zealand was investigating.
He could not say at what business the accident happened, but said police were working with WorkSafe.
WorkSafe said initial information indicated that the man fell off the ladder after it was hit by a forklift.
WorkSafe said it could not reveal the name of the business, as it could not be assumed that it was one of that company's workers, or a contractor working on-site.
