Coldplay’s Chris Martin seen kissing runway before boarding plane to NZ

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was seen kissing the runway at Sydney Airport before boarding a flight to Auckland for the band’s New Zealand gigs.

The 47-year-old musician, known for his hits such as Let Somebody Go and Viva La Vida, was captured on camera kneeling and kissing the tarmac on Monday.

This surprising gesture, which appears to be a personal ritual for the star, isn't the first time Martin has been seen kissing the ground before or after a flight, the Daily Mail reported.

Last November, he repeated the same act when he landed in Malaysia prior to a concert, and he performed a similar ritual in Indonesia during his previous tour.

Meanwhile, Martin was seen roaming around Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter area on Monday night.

The band is bringing their Music of the Spheres tour to Auckland on the 13th, 15th and 16th of November.
