Six60 have announced a new album and are promising a “raw” return to their roots.

Right Here Right Now is the Dunedin-rockers’ fifth studio album, and is described as having “roots-driven energy”.

Each track was recorded live in a single take, with the entire album completed in just three days.

Lead singer Matiu Walters said the group are “at the top of our game” and the recording process was “old school”.

“I feel like I was born to sing these songs! Pure, real and heart felt. Six60 at its best,” said Walters.

“We are returning to our roots music origins, and the music feels natural, uncomplicated, and relatable. Four chords and the truth.”

Six60 have been announced as one of the main acts to play the inaugural concert at Christchurch's One NZ Stadium. The group played a number at the stadium on Wednesday morning.

Two new singles, Knocking At Your Door and We Are All Kings, are now- available and the album is released on February 13.

Six60 recently announced they were teaming up with electronic-orchestral outfit Synthony for the first concert at Christchurch’s new One NZ Stadium on May 16.

The event, titled Once in a Lifetime, is presented by Mānuka Phuel in association with Kiwibank, and will feature full sets from both acts, culminating in a collaborative finale. Six60’s biggest hits will be reimagined with Synthony’s full orchestral production.

They will be joined by special guests Kaylee Bell, Cassie Henderson, and Castaway for an all-Kiwi lineup.
