Thursday, 12 February 2026

All Blacks star Damian McKenzie and his partner Georgia O’Sullivan have welcomed their first child.

McKenzie will sit out the Chiefs’ Super Rugby Pacific season-opener against the Blues in Auckland on Saturday night “after the birth of his first child earlier this week,” the team said in a statement on Wednesday.

The couple first confirmed their baby news in a social media post in October last year.

“Six months growing our biggest blessing,” O’Sullivan wrote on the post. “Mum & Dad incoming February, 2026.”

Several of McKenzie’s All Blacks and Chiefs teammates’ left messages of congratulations on the post, including Cam Roigard and Wallace Sititi.

The pair first announced their relationship through an Instagram post back in 2024.

O’Sullivan is the daughter of champion New Zealand jockey and horse trainer Lance O’Sullivan.

McKenzie, who has a keen interest in the thoroughbred racing industry, has been with the Chiefs since 2015 and made his international test debut with the All Blacks the following year.
