Married at First Sight UK wives accuse their husbands of sexual misconduct

Tuesday, 19 May 2026

Two women have alleged they were raped during the filming of Married at First Sight UK, while a third has made an accusation of sexual misconduct against her onscreen husband, the BBC has reported.

The women said they should have been better protected on the show, the broadcaster said.

Shona Manderson, the only one of the three women who has been publicly identified, said a “boundary was crossed” after her on-screen husband allegedly ignored an agreement they had about contraception during sex.

“I don’t think that because you’re going on reality TV, you deserve in any way for things like this to happen to you,” Manderson told the BBC.

Her on-screen husband, Bradley Skelly, denied allegations of sexual misconduct and said the relationship was based on “mutual consent, care and affection”.

Channel 4 said in a statement that it was informed in April of “serious allegations of wrongdoing”.

The accusations were against “a small number of past contributors, allegations that we understand those contributors have denied,” the broadcaster said.

Channel 4 said that last month it initiated an external review of welfare on the show.

Lawyers for makers of the show, CPL, said it had a “gold standard” and industry-leading welfare system, and that it acted appropriately in all these cases, the BBC reported.
