Daveigh Chase, who voiced Lilo in the film Lilo & Stitch, died of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), the Los Angeles coroner's office has said.

It also pointed to 'chronic polysubstance abuse' in its report, Variety reported.

Chase also starred in Stitch! The Movie, Leroy & Stitch, Lilo & Stitch: The Series and Big Love. She appeared as the girl in The Ring, and had parts in Donnie Darko, and the sequel S Darko.

Chase stopped acting in 2016, with her father saying that since the age of 13 she had struggled with drugs and been homeless.
