Pole jumps in front of car

Or, rather, the 'was he actually thinking at all?' file.
A simple, short video posted to Reddit (in the appropriately-named 'Idiots in Cars' sub-reddit) by user ToxicRodeo highlights the dangers of inattention behind the wheel, even in an area you might think completely free of hazards.
Well, almost free.
In the video a Mitsubishi drives slowly through an largely empty parking lot before hitting literally the only thing in front of it - a power pole - with enough force to crumple the front of the poor, innocent SUV.

Clearly the driver wasn't paying attention, but the best thing about the video (other than the bumblingly slow impact) is the reaction of the driver who actually seems genuinely surprised that a pole jumped out in front of him…
