Giltrap announces new car subscription service

Giltrap will be the next in New Zealand to offer a vehicle subscription services, following successful introductions of similar programmes overseas, Seat’s in-house offering and Turner’s own local model, Turner’s Subscription.
Called SIXT, the service allows Kiwis access to brand-new cars with subscription options of 6, 9 or 12 months.
The SIXT fleet boasts an decent range of cars, including the Volkswagen Polo GTI, Range Rover Velar, Nissan Qashqai and Land Rover Defender, to name a few.
Pricing starts from $995 a month with the Skoda Octavia wagon, hot hatchbacks are priced from $1,045 a month with the Volkswagen Polo GTI and EVs begin at $1695 a month with the second-generation Nissan Leaf. Meanwhile, the Land Rover Defender can be had for $3295 a month.

All budgets and car types are covered, with EVs, compacts, limousines, SUVs, all-wheel drive and luxury sport vehicles on offer. Many vehicles are guaranteed models too, meaning they will be immediately available when someone requests them. More vehicles will be added in time.
SIXT offers some degree of personalisation with its vehicles, with subscribers able to adjust options such as exterior colour, interior colour, wheels, sunroof and an audio system upgrade.
The subscription service wants to have its rental fleet going beyond the usual carbon neutral objectives, with 25 per cent of its vehicles to be electric by 2025.
If you’re unsure about switching to electric power, you can use SIXT to see if an EV is right for as little as $79 a day, $499 a week or $1695 a month on a 12-month subscription.
