Holidays are over, which means delays on State Highway 1

A crash near Ōtaki has caused more delays as traffic congestion built for drivers heading back to the Capital.
On Tuesday afternoon NZ Transport Agency are warning motorists of 30 minute delays along State Highway 1 between Levin and Ōtaki, while, a two-car crash has slowed holiday traffic to a crawl on State Highway 1 near Ōtaki.
Congestion had eased by 6pm.
The crash happened between Ōtaki and Levin at about 4.50pm on Tuesday, a police spokeswoman said.

Police and ambulance officers are at the scene near South Manakau Rd.
Traffic in the southbound lane was partly blocked and was crawling. I
That stretch of SH1 can be notoriously slow during holidays.
