Che Wilson for Stuff’s series of oral essays ‘The Treaty and Me’.

Che Wilson was raised in Ōhākune at the foot of Ruapehu.

He was the chief negotiator for Ngāti Rangi, the central North Island iwi that signed its deed of settlement in March 2018, receiving financial and commercial redress of $17 million. 

In Stuff's 'The Treaty and Me' series of short video essays about the Treaty, Wilson says Waitangi represents both a spiritual document and a contract.
