Thursday, 11 October 2018
The woman killed in a workplace incident at Eastland Port this week was Shannon Brooke Rangihuna, of Gisborne.
Rangihuna, 29, also known as Shannon Rangihuna-Kemp, died on Monday when a log struck her after it fell off a falling shuttle truck, just before 9am.
The death resulted in the port, based in Gisborne, to be closed for the day as a mark of respect and to allow colleagues time to reflect and grieve.
Rangihuna was employed by the log marshalling and stevedoring company, ISO.
