One dead, 2 seriously injured in Christchurch motorcycle crash

Emergency services are at the scene of a crash between a car and motorcycle in Christchurch.

One person has died and two are seriously injured after a crash between a car and a motorcycle in Christchurch.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in at the intersection of Colombo and Sandyford streets, in Sydenham, about 11.10am on Friday.

The crash involved a car and a motorcycle, a police statement said.

Two people were transported to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.

The intersection was blocked off, and diversions would be put in place. Motorists were asked to avoid the area if possible.

The Serious Crash Unit would be investigating the crash.
