Saturday, 17 November 2018
A person is dead after a motorbike crash in Henderson, West Auckland.
The crash occurred on Henderson Valley Rd on November 17 at about 3.17pm and the rider died at the scene, police said
Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman Colin Underdown said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Police said the road was blocked from Forest Hill Rd.
The serious crash unit was investigating and diversions were in place.
A person who lived nearby, whom Stuff has agreed not to name, said she heard a bang and a short time later there were lots of emergency services and people on the road.
'They've closed the road off. They said it would be closed off for at least four hours.'
It comes just hours after two people died in a motorcycle crash in Southland.
A third person was critically injured in that crash, about 12.45pm, police said.
