'Unruly' family travelling in NZ known for 'scary' antics in the United Kingdom

Police talking to a family, believed involved in several incidents across auckland at the weekend, at Burger King Te Rapa.

The 'unruly' tourist family visiting New Zealand are known for their 'anti-social behaviour' back in Britain, according to reports.

Tina Maria Cash, 26, who pleaded guilty to two theft charges in the Hamilton District Court, is believed to have lived at a traveller site near Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

British tabloid The Sun reported that Cash had lived there up until about 18 months ago - although other travellers said they had seen her more recently.

One woman at the site told The Sun that someone else was renting out her yard there, and that she hadn't seen her for a long time.

'It's terrible. She's a nice girl, you know what I mean. She is a nice girl, honestly she is. Sometime you can just mix with the wrong people, it's as simple as that,' the woman was reported saying.

Locals said the sprawling site, in between the villages of Bitteswell and Ullesthorpe, is a hotspot for anti-social behaviour.

One resident who lived nearby the site told The Sun that her family had been plagued with trouble for years.

'They copulate, defecate and urinate. It is never-ending.'

The resident told The Sun that they were even using their address for their mail - and have had bailiffs turn up at their home looking for them.

'It's the younger ones. They just do whatever they want to do. They were using our address for their mail,' the resident said.

'If I go out into the village, I'm always worried to go home because of what I might find.

A member of the unruly travelling family makes her way into the Hamilton District Court before the appearance of another member of the group on theft charges.

'It's scary. They seem to be able to ride roughshod over everyone who lives around here.'

The tourist family have caused controversy in New Zealand recently after they left beer boxes, bottles and baby wipes at Takapuna Beach at the weekend.

The group were also labelled 'rude' and 'ready to fight' after they threw food on the ground at an Auckland hotel and cafe.

The family caught the attention of police in Hamilton on Tuesday when they started causing problems at Burger King on Te Rapa Straight.

'They were walking through the drive-through,' the manager said at the time as police spoke with family nearby.

'They were just here causing problems for other customers.'

On Wednesday, Tina Maria Cash appeared on two charges of theft in the Hamilton District Court after spending a night in the police cells.

She must pay up $55.20 for the Red Bull, sunglasses and rope she stole from the Caltex at Albany - on December 31 and January 4 - by 4pm. Cash arrived in the country on November 29 on a six-month travelling visa.

Members of her family who also arrived at court on Wednesday morning, shielding their faces from waiting media.

One of the members later hit a Stuff journalist with her shoe after she was approached for comment.

Others sped off in their car when spotted outside the Hamilton Police Station.
