Morning commuters in Auckland can expect delays with a power outage and track fault affecting train services.

Auckland Transport said an overhead line issue near Puhinui meant trains on the southern and eastern lines were running at a reduced frequency.

The trains on these lines would run about every 20 minutes, it said.

On the eastern line, services were running at a reduced frequency to Ōtāhuhu. On the southern line, services were running at a reduced frequency to Penrose.

AT advised commuters to take bus route 33 from Ōtāhuhu or Manukau.

A track fault was also delaying services into Britomart.

AT spokesman Mark Hannan said commuters could expect 'slight delays' on these lines.

Scheduled buses were accepting all train tickets and AT Hop cards.

Services on the western and Onehunga lines were operating normally, Hannan said.
