Monday, 2 September 2019
Efforts to retrieve a body found at West Auckland's Muriwai Beach on Sunday have entered their second day.
Weather conditions had hampered work on Sunday afternoon, but police said on Monday morning a shoreline search was underway.
A police spokesperson earlier told Stuff they were notified at 9.25am on Sunday to a person in the water, the circumstances of which were unclear.
The police Eagle helicopter would be conducting an aerial search and the Coastguard would join efforts, police said.
