Crackdown on Auckland’s red light runners expands with eight new cameras
Wednesday, 18 December 2019
New red light cameras are now live at risky intersections in an effort to crackdown on dangerous driving.
Auckland mayor Phil Goff said stringent enforcement against running red lights was needed to save lives.
'We need to enforce road safety, and last year when we increased enforcement on red light running through safety cameras, we made real progress,” he said.
'We are trying to stop people behaving dangerously, not to raise revenue, and that's why we're advertising where the red-light cameras are.”
