Saturday, 8 August 2020
Wednesday’s Lotto Powerball will be worth an eye-watering $43 million, and if it’s struck it will be the second-largest win ever.
No-one had the lucky ticket for Saturday night’s draw, which was for $38 million in Powerball.
The winning numbers on Saturday night were: 4, 7, 11, 16, 23, 28. The bonus number was 36, and the Powerball number was 5.
Long queues were seen at many Lotto outlets around the country through Saturday.
Lotto NZ spokesperson Marie Winfield said: “If it’s won on Wednesday, we know so many people will benefit from this prize. Winners always tell us of the amazing things they plan to do for family, friends and charities close to their hearts. It’s going to make such a difference in their community,” says Marie.
Meanwhile, seven lucky Lotto players from around the country each won $142,857 with Lotto first division.
Strike Four was won on Saturday night by a player from Stratford, who took home $400,000. The winning ticket was sold at New World Stratford.
The largest single win in Lotto history was a Powerball haul of $44.1 million in November 2016, sold at Dairy Flat Food Mart and Liquor in Auckland.
