Police car involved in crash on SH2 near Melling, Lower Hutt

Traffic is moving again following a collision involving a police car on State Highway 2 in Lower Hutt.

The crash happened about 3.40pm on Wednesday at the Melling Link intersection with SH2.

A police spokeswoman said the patrol car was using its lights and sirens when the crash happened.

She said there were reports of people being treated for minor injuries, though it was unclear who was receiving attention.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency said the crash had been cleared.
