Covid-19: Auckland malls and playgrounds on list of more than 140 locations of interest

Dr Ashley Bloomfield announces that 11 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Contact tracing has now identified more than 100 locations of interest in Auckland's Covid-19 outbreak.

On Thursday evening more locations of interest were added including a kindergarten in Blockhouse Bay, a KFC in Botany Downs, which had a positive case in February 2021, and a Countdown Botany supermarket.

It was also announced Dress Smart mall in Onehunga, Chipmunks Playland in New Lynn and a youth practice at Avondale Primary School were now locations of interest.

Other locations include a beach walkway/playground in Takapuna, bars and eateries on the North Shore, and central and east Auckland bus routes.

People are urged to check the Ministry of Health website for further updates.

People who were at locations at the same time as any of the positive cases should monitor their health and be aware of any symptoms of Covid-19.

Anyone who develops symptoms should stay at home, contact Healthline on 0800 358 5453 and get a test, the ministry said.
