One person dead in incident at Auckland's Bethells Beach

Police confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that a person has died after an incident at Auckland’s Bethells Beach.

The person was having trouble in the water and local Surf Lifesavers and the police eagle helicopter was dispatched at 3.40pm.

The person was found and brought back to shore where they received medical attention, but died.
