Six people have been charged following an “unprovoked attack” in Auckland CBD that left four people hospitalised.
Police said the incident happened around 1am on Sunday at Princes Wharf.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kushwinder Kullar said a group of around ten people accosted another group of people and began “violently” assaulting the victims.
The victims all sustained non-life threatening injuries, but three suffered significant injuries and were “knocked unconscious”, he said.

A St John ambulance spokeswoman earlier said they treated one patient in a critical condition, two in a moderate condition and another in a minor condition. All were taken to Auckland Hospital.
All have been discharged as of Wednesday morning, police confirmed.
Six people aged between 21 and 27 were arrested and now face a “raft of serious charges” including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
They were due to appear in Auckland District Court on Tuesday.
Police said they were still making inquiries to identify and find others involved.
Kullar said the incident was “appalling” and they were lucky not to be dealing with an even more serious incident given the nature of the attack and resulting injuries.
