One dead, one injured after motorcycle crash in Motueka

A motorcyclist has died and the driver of another car has head injuries following a crash in Motueka.
An ambulance took a man to Nelson Hospital after a car and motorcycle collided at the intersection Thorp St and Glenaven Drive.
The identity of the dead person is not yet known.
The driver of the car was being assessed in hospital, and it's believed the injuries are not serious.

Police, firefighters and a St John Ambulance responded to the crash, which happened about 5.50am on Monday.
Local diversions remain in place as the Serious Crash Unit continues its work at the scene.
Fire and Emergency NZ communications shift supervisor Andrew Norris said two Motueka crews attended the incident, where they assisted with traffic and first aid.
However, once a fatality was confirmed, they were stood down and the scene was handed over to police.
