Forsyth Barr Stadium is set to be a sell-out when Pink performs under the roof.

The singer and her entourage arrived late into Dunedin Airport on Sunday night, and will perform before 37,000 fans on Tuesday night.

While that tour is dubbed the ‘Pink Summer Carnival Tour’, summer is a distant memory in Dunedin, where Pink will be performing for the third time.

Pink arrives in Dunedin in 2018, on Tuesday it will be the third time she has played in the city.

A forecast of rain coupled with strong southwesterlies may dampen some of the enthusiasm for fans heading to the concert, with some 64% of attendees coming from outside of Otago.

Forsyth Barr Stadium, which opened in 2011, has new state-of-the-art lighting installed.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be one of two cities in New Zealand hosting Pink,” says Forsyth Barr Stadium chief executive Terry Davies said.

“After a triumphant tour in 2018, we can’t wait to do it all again – but this time with an even larger production and crowd.”

The expected influx of visitors led the Dunedin City Council to convert the Victoria Rd carpark into 100 bookable parks for certified self-contained campervans, from Monday until Wednesday.

Some of the city’s iconic buildings will be lit up in pink, including Toitū Otago Settlers Museum, Dunedin Railway Station, Dunedin Airport, Tūhura Otago Museum, Forsyth Barr Stadium, the Grand Casino and St Paul’s Cathedral.

From Dunedin, Pink will make her way to Auckland where she’ll perform at Eden Park on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9.
