KiwiRail investigating widespread signalling problem

KiwiRail is investigating after after a signalling problem impacted train services across the country, except Auckland, on Friday morning.

The issue with signalling systems happened between 10.50am and 11.15am, a KiwiRail spokesperson said.

Trains had to stop for a short time before continuing under manual control, he said.

Among the affected services had been all trains departing from Wellington Station.
