Mother of missing Marokopa children shares letter from fugitive father Thomas Phillips

Cat, the mother of Ember, Maverick and Jayda Phillips, who remain missing, has spoken out on Jayda's 11th birthday.

The mother of three missing Marokopa children has released a handwritten letter from the children’s father.

In the letter, Thomas Phillips writes that he has “f….. up”.

He continues the letter by saying he has to live with what he has done for the rest of his life.

In a post on Facebook, the children’s mother Catherine shared pictures of her daughter Jayda’s last birthday with the family, as well as two pictures of a handwritten note from Phillips.

In the letter, Phillips said he has “f….. up” and that he has to live with what he has done for the rest of his life.

Speaking directly to Catherine, Phillips said he can’t make her forgive him, but wants to be with her, the “woman I have been in love with for over seven years”.

He continued, “I know if I ever give up trying to make things right I will regret it forever. I’m sorry for everything I have ever said or done to hurt you. These past nine months I have suffered everyday knowing I should have dealt with things better and knowing that I f….. up.”

Catherine shared a photo with her three missing children Jayda, Maverick, and Ember on Facebook.

He finished the letter saying “I hope you can remember the man you fell in love with and know that although I make multiple f… ups I have a good heart and I mean well”.

Phillips said they have an awesome family and that it was worth fighting for.

It is not known when the letter was sent.

In the post, Catherine said she decided to share the letter to show that “all is not as it seems” and comes one day after releasing a video pleading with people to help bring her children home.

The children, Jayda, 11, Maverick, 9 and Ember, 8, have not been seen since December 2021 after their father took them to a location unknown but thought to be in western Waikato within Marokopa or the surrounding areas.

Police have offered a $80,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of the three children.
