Tramper’s body found in Otago river

A tramper’s body has been found in a South Island river.
The body was discovered on February 5 in the Timaru River, in Otago.
Police have given few details on the death, but said it had been deemed not suspicious.
A spokesperson said the death had been referred to the coroner.
A member of the public said a friend had found the body of a young woman on the Te Araroa trail.
The body appeared to have head injuries, the person said.
Part of the Te Araroa trail follows the Timaru River.
