Two people found dead at Bay of Plenty property

Two people, a man and a woman, died at a property on Old Coach Rd in Pukehina, Bay of Plenty.

Emergency services were notified around 3pm on Thursday after a woman was found dead at the address.

Eastern Bay of Plenty Area Investigations Manager Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Wilson said a 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to her death.

He is due to appear in Tauranga District Court today, charged with assault on a person in a family relationship.

Around 2.10am on Friday, police were made aware of a man found deceased in another house on the same property.

His death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Wilson said scene examinations would continue throughout the day, and further arrests or charges are not being ruled out.

“Two post-mortems will also take place in due course,” Wilson said,

Police are asking anyone with information, or anyone who visited the property between 7pm on Wednesday and 3am on Friday to come forward.
