Vehicle driven at revellers, weapons brandished as Auckland Airbnb party turns violent

Four people are injured after a group of people turned up to an Auckland party brandishing machetes, with two people being run over.
Police, firefighters and ambulance staff rushed to the incident on Phyllis St in Mt Albert about 9.24pm on Friday.
Senior Sergeant John Nicol said police received multiple calls about the large disorder event involving young people.
He said a vehicle was driven toward a group of partygoers, injuring two people. During the wider disorder, at least two additional individuals were injured.

Nicol said officers were continuing to investigate and find out exactly what occurred.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson confirmed four people were taken to Auckland City Hospital. Three had moderate injuries while the fourth was in a serious condition.
Several witnesses told Stuff a group of people armed with machetes turned up to the party at an Airbnb.
Around 70 to 100 people were at the party, Stuff understands.
A Stuff reporter at the scene said there were “dozens” of teenagers around.
Smashed alcohol bottles and makeup had been discarded on the road.
