Major Hawke’s Bay road closed for hours after vehicle crashes into middle barrier

The Hawke’s Bay Expressway has been closed both ways at Westshore, following a crash.

A single vehicle crashed into the middle barrier shortly before 4.30am, police said.

The Expressway, State Highway 2, was closed between Prebensen Drive and Watchman Road in a major closure affecting one of the key routes to Hawke’s Bay Airport.

The Expressway was expected to be closed for several more hours into the late morning while repairs were made to the barrier, police said.
