Crew remain at the scene of a house fire that broke out at 6.07am on Vine St in Māngere.
Fire and Emergency NZ North Shift Manager Carren Larking told Stuff they received multiple calls to a house fire which was well involved on arrival.
The single storey fire was about 15 by 10m in size.
Four fire trucks were still in attendance just after 7am dampening down hotspots.
Police said they were on the scene and would be working with a fire investigator around the circumstances.
On the same street, just a few doors down, fire crew were called to what appeared to be a house fire at 3am.
'On arrival it was actually a tree and small external shed on fire,“ Larking said.
Police confirmed they were making inquiries into the fire at the unoccupied property.
“In consultation with a fire investigator, the fire has been deemed suspicious.”
Police said the address was vacant and a wall “suffered fire damage as a result”.
